Tough topics and Jesus

I couldn’t help but re-post this link to Perry Noble’s blog on the Broken and Bothered. What an incredible communicator and I get so pumped up every time I hear about the life change happening in and through NewSpring Church. I love that the heartbeat of Lifepoint reflects closely to that of NewSpring’s- to unabashedly declare Jesus as Lord, to love people, and to never stray from telling the real truth of the Bible. If you question what this pastor says, or for that matter our own Pastor Jeff or any other, then dig deeper in the Bible for yourself and see what God says about this crazy life and all that comes with it- sin and all.

I love that our pastor runs hard after Jesus, loves people like nobody’s business, and without shame talks about tough subjects that others are afraid to, in away that people not used to churchiness can understand. It’s not just about being “relevant” folks or even being “edgy”…I never get tired of seeing played out Jeff’s commitment to continually preach the solid truth of the gospel, even when it’s uncomfortable for some, because the gospel is not pretty and it’s definitely not comfortable.

Get ready for ’07 because we will continue to not only share God’s love, but to expose the reality of tough subjects, how to deal with them, and how to live for God in such a radically different way that the effects permeates every aspect of our lives!
