Dreaming with the Dreamers

dsc00869.jpgLast night was an awesome time of some incredible Italian food, fun, and good company. As Daryl and I were planning out where to have an appreciation dinner for our Dream Team, figuring out the best place to host a celebration of our volunteers and what God has done, with some atmosphere, we settled on Giorgio’s at Monkey Junction- if you have not tried the Monkey Junction Chicken there, make tonight a date night and get over there to try it! It is off the hizook.

I think one of craziest thoughts I had after last night is this- I have come to the conclusion that we definitely will need a different place than that for our dinner next year… because we were packed out! As wonderful as Giorgio’s was, our space only could contain 68 people! And we had at least 65+ AMAZING volunteers in that room- that is unbelievable. For those people, this little Lifepoint ornament is but a small token of our appreciation for all you do…To think that almost a year ago we started out with about 15 people in a living room in Clayton, packed up and grew to about 30 in another family’s living room here in Wil, moved on to a couple rooms on campus at UNCW, met together in the Cinema Grill, and here we are now at Myrtle Grove Middle School. We could not have done without those 65 people plus many others who have poured out their blood, sweat, and tears all because of a couple of idiotoses (ahem! Pastor Jeff & Daryl)
34737899fp339nu325634-7wsnrcg323377.jpgand this HUGE vision God had placed in their hearts: to point people to life in Jesus and run hard after him no matter what. All you guys are what keep keep the “dream” alive and necessitate even a need for a Dream Team– knowing that by following Jesus and through pointing people to life as best as we can, lives and hearts are being transformed by Jesus. How exciting is that!! I am convinced that we will need a much bigger place to celebrate next year because as God continues to work in the lives of the people of Wilmington, our ministry teams at Lifepoint are going to grow like none other because of people’s willingness to follow in Jesus’ footsteps and serve.

So if you’re not plugged in yet- get in the game! Because one of the best ways we grow in our relationship with Christ and build relationships with people is by serving- and the joy and reward of that is incomparable! Thanks Dream Team ’06 for a wonderful year, we look forward to ’07! Get ready.

    Rebekah:

Every time I read an updated blog from not only you and Chad, but Jeff’s, Daryl’s, and Brad’s – I get overjoyed. What an incredible experience it has been for me to share this ride with ya’ll. God is certainly using all of you to help change people’s lives! You know our friend, Pat Mason, and I prayed for Jeff to become a “senior pastor” even before he knew that was where God was leading him. Love to all,

I know its wrong to envy, but this is one ride I wish I had been on from the beginning, but I guess I’m close enough! I cannot describe for you how excited and thrilled Barb and I are to be part of the Lifepoint dream that is daily becoming a reality. And Rebekah…you and Chad and the worship team just keep blessing our hearts out, just like you do every week. Your leadership is so welcome and appreciated.
