Processing…

I am still trying to process the extraordinary weekend we had recently…and it started with giving away. Our awesome volunteers continue to blow me away- we had over 50 people come out to hand out air fresheners, direct traffic, pump gas, and just smile at people. It was such a blast and it’s cool to see people come together for a common goal- one of the funnest, to just show people in the community that we care in a cool way. I wonder how long $2.47 for gas will stick around? We gave, and some people gave more. Thanks to everyone who pulled this off, Chickfila for providing free coupons and Walmart/Murphy Gas for partnering with us! We were prayed up, pumped up, and geared up for what God would do this weekend…

To top it off we had 2 fabulous services with Exodus- one of my favorite bands from Liberty! Not only did they rock, but there was such a powerful presence of the Lord there. Jeff did a solid job on such a hard-hitting message- I hope that this series speaks to people about God’s design for marriage and that He heals wounds and hurts along the way. It is going to be neat to see how He works through everything. My biggest prayer is that people hear the truth and the life-giving, wonderful purpose he has for marriages and families within His plan.

This makes me think that again, it all comes back to giving away. Not just some free gas. But giving away our time to people in need of a listening ear, giving away our possessions for others to enjoy, giving away our money because it’s God’s anyway, giving away our talents/abilities to glorify God, giving away love to people who don’t understand where it comes from in the first place.

Your words were excellent and you are so right about giving to God. As Jeff continues to say – you just can’t outgive God! Watch out Wilmington – God has some awesome plans for you!

PS: We saw gas in Burlington today for $2.27!
